Intrinsically Safe Data Loggers

Veriteq's Intrinsically Safe (IS) data loggers are for use in hazardous environments containing volatile chemicals and flammable liquids, gases or vapors. Our IS Loggers are simple and easy-to-use in a variety of applications.

Intrinsic Safety (IS) allows electronic equipment to operate safely in environments containing atmospheric explosive and flammable elements. It is a concept that was created for process control instrumentation used in hazardous areas and is an extension of the application of Inherent Safety in Instrumentation.

Veriteq's IS Loggers adhere to all applicable CSA and ANSI/UL standards for use in environments containing volatile flammable liquids, gases or vapors and are rated for Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, and D applications.

Our IS Loggers are used in various applications, including pharmaceutical validation processes as well as the monitoring of warehouse and storage areas in chemical plants, oil refineries, and industrial sites.

As part of the Certificate of Compliance, the products listed below are eligible to bear the CSA mark (shown at top left). The "C" and "US" indicators signify that the product has been evaluated for use in both Canada and the US.

The new IS-certified data logger models share all of the design, operating and performance characteristics of our standard models with the exception that the IS versions contain special circuitry that complies with intrinsically safe operation requirements. In addition, maximum permissible operating temperature of the loggers at the T6 temperature code is 80°C.
